Jensen Appoints Phil Bennett as Director of Institutional Sales and Client Service

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — Jensen Investment Management, a 100% employee-owned high-conviction equity investment management firm, today announced that Phil Bennett has joined the organization as its new Director of Institutional Sales and Client Service, effective July 11.

“We are excited to welcome Phil to the team,” said Eric H. Schoenstein, managing director, Jensen Investment Management. “As we look to build deeper relationships with consultants, endowments, and foundations, we are confident that his comprehensive experience and client service focus will play a key role in the retention and development of our growing institutional business both domestically and abroad.”

A solutions-orientated industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Mr. Bennett has successfully built and managed large, complex relationships with both consultants and plan sponsors. He joins Jensen from Thornburg Investment Management, where he spent four years as regional director of its institutional group, servicing the firm’s institutional client base, as well as leading business development in the Western United States and Canada. Previously, he spent four years at Mellon Capital Management, where he was head of global consultant relations, also in the Western United States.  In addition, he has held senior positions at GMO, Causeway Capital Management, and EnnisKnupp (now Aon Hewitt).

“I look forward to sharing my experience working with consultants and a diverse institutional client set,” said Phil Bennett. “Jensen’s organizational structure, transparent and well-established investment process, and nearly 35-year commitment to quality is what first drew me to the role. This is an exciting opportunity to expand the firm’s business and work with the team to serve both current and future clients.”

Mr. Bennett holds a BA in marketing from the Honors College at Michigan State University. He earned an MBA, with honors, from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
