The Jensen Investment Team Sells the Quality Growth Strategy's Remaining Position in General Mills
As part of our disciplined investment process, we continually seek to improve the quality of our holdings. This involves liquidating companies when better investment opportunities arise. Such is the case with General Mills (GIS). Even though it competes in the relatively slow-growth packaged foods industry, we believe GIS is a strong company with well-known brands, strong market positions, meaningful economies of scale versus its smaller competitors, and a sound strategy designed to drive sales growth and profitability over time.
Despite these positives, we decided to sell the company’s stock and invest the proceeds in Moody’s Corporation (MCO), a higher-quality company in our opinion. Please read our Holdings Update on Moody’s to learn more about this purchase.
